The film details an entire live performance from Devo's 1996 reunion tour with Lollapalooza, opening for Metallica. The band performs a stripped down set consisting of songs from their first three albums, filmed at Irvine Meadows, California.

Concert given by Sonic Youth on Friday, August 7, 1998, as part of the Benicàssim International Festival. Broadcast on Sputnik Concert (Channel 33) a few weeks later that same year.

Devo have been through a lot over the years, developing their parody of humankind's plight of conformity in their theory of devolution after member Gerald Casale witnessed the Kent State killings of student protesters in 1970, but they haven't wavered in their innovative sounds and pioneering visuals.

"Live in Style" is a family story. The family are in a difficult situation now, but they try to overcome and live in style. Each member of this large family have unusual names.

Satyam (Nassar) is a driver and his wife Sarada (Madhavi) is a music teacher. They were both orphans brought up in the Seva Ashram (run by Charuhasan). Sarada and Satyam have four kids. Satyam, though good at heart, is addicted to liquor. Apparao (Tanikella Bharani), a toddy milk vendor, has an eye on Sarada. When Satyam discovers Apparao making advances on Sarada, he assaults him in front of everyone. Avenging the assault, Apparao kills Satyam. Sarada, who is diagnosed with cancer, wants her children to be brought up in a family atmosphere rather than in the Ashram and the children are adopted by different families.

Members of pioneering New Wave band Devo and golfing legend Chi Chi Rodríguez recall how their paths crossed when Devo used an image of Chi Chi for their debut album.
